Solid 'Big Things' Undercard

PhilBoxing.com

2004 U.S. Olympian Jason Estrada Headlines Nov. 10 in Providence

PROVIDENCE (November 2, 2012) - Big Six Entertainment has announced a solid undercard for the "Big Things" card, headlined by 2004 U.S. Olympian Jason "Big Six" Estrada (19-4, 5 KOs), on Saturday night, November 10 at the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence.

Estrada faces veteran heavyweight Galen "Bad Boy" Brown (38-20-1, 23 KOs) in the eight-round main event, which will be supported by nine scheduled fights showcasing many of New England's favorite boxers.

"Big Six Entertainment is committed to bringing the most competitive and entertaining fights to fans," Big Six Entertainments president Artie DePinho said. "Jason Estrada is keeping busy and positioning himself for a big fight in the heavyweight division. We've put together a good undercard, supporting his main event fight, featuring solid bouts and fan-favorite fighters."

Unbeaten Pawtucket (RI) light welterweight Diego Periera (7-0-1, 2 KOs) faces his stiffest test to date in the six-round co-feature against battle-tested Bryan "The Brick" Abraham (6-14-2, 6 KOs), whose deceptive record includes wins over prospects such as highly-decorated U.S. amateur boxer Darnell Jiles (8-2) and previously unbeatens Dominic DeSanto (5-0), Johnathan Vasquez (4-0) and Scott Burell (3-0). Pereira is stepping up to fight a more experienced opponent in a risky fight that is more dangerous than it may appear on paper.

Cape Cod heavyweight Jesse Barboza (4-1-1, 3 KOs) returns to the ring for the first time in two years, taking on Kevin Franklin (4-5, 1 KO), who has won four of his last fight six fights, losing to undefeated USBA champion Bryant Jennings (15-0, 7 KOs) and (21-1,15 KOs) Eric Fields.

The Fight of the Night could very well turn out to be a six-rounder between unbeaten junior welterweights, Gabriel Deluc (6-0, 1 KO), of Boston, and Waterbury's (CT) Jair Ramos (3-0-1, 2 KOs).

Also fighting on the undercard in four-round fights are Hyannis (MA) light heavyweight Paul Gonsalves (4-2, 3 KOs), who squares-off against Ahmad Mickens (1-2-1); rededicated Providence junior welterweight Josh "Bam Bam" Beeman (4-11-3, 2 KOs) shoots for his first win in four years in a potential brawl with Carlos Hernandez (3-2, 2 KOs), winner of his last three in a row; 2009 New England Golden Gloves champion Russell Lamour, fighting out of Portland (ME), makes his professional debut against middleweight Issa Coulibaly (0-3); former Irish National amateur champion Michael McLaughlin (2-1-1), fighting out of Boston, plans to rebound from his first loss in a welterweight match versus Robert Hunt (0-2), of Hyannis; Providence middleweights Kevin Harrison and Pubilo Pena make their pro debuts fighting each other; Springfield super middleweight Reinaldo Graceski (2-0) goes for his first knockout in a throw-down with Michael Mitchell (0-1).

All fights and fighters are subject to change.

Tickets, reasonably priced at $40.00, $60.00 and $100.00, are available to purchase by calling Big Six Boston at 1.617.312.5059, Big Six Providence at 1.401.241.3490 (RI), going on line at www.bigsixentertainment, com or www.ticketmaster.com, and at the Rhode Island Convention Center box office.

Doors open at 6 p.m. ET with the first bout scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
