NM Buto spearheads Goldland Chess Club

National Master Al-Basher "Basty" Buto is set to compete in the Manny Pacquiao Chess Philippines 3x3 (Tatluhan) Chess Team Tournament on April 19, 2026 at the Pavilion Mall, Greenfield District, Edsa corner Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
Buto will spearhead Goldland Chess Club together with Ricardo Jimenez and Noel Glifonea.
Nelson Busa Jr. teamed up with Adrian Perez and Vincent Mariano for One Hit Delete Chess Team.
Àlso joining are Maasin Builders Chess Team of sportsman and Team Owner Juzail "kuyajaz" Maasin which will be fielding Michael Punzalan, Alvin Roma and Micky Gilbuena; M2 Constructura Yabut Constriction Chess Team anchored by Kevin Arquero, Mark Anthony Yabut and Amado Gregorio Jr. and Top Secret chess team which is comprised of Sherwin Tiu, Raymark Advincula and Luis Jacutina.
The 1-day rapid tournament, jointly organized by John Salcedo and Kalaro founder and CEO Jun Lasco, backed up by National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) Chairman/President Prospero Pichay Jr., offers P30,000, trophy and a medals to the champion team, the runner-up place team will learn P20,000 and a trophy while the third place team will bring home P10,000 and a trophy.
4th to 6th place will get P8,000, P6,000 and P4,000, respectively while the 8th-10th place will receive P3,000 each.
The top Under 1900 below team and top Under 1850 below team will pocket P4,500 apiece as well the top lady performer.
The individual gold medal winners from board 1, 2 and 3 will receive P1,000 each.
