DANIEL RUIZ OF MEXICO?S TURN TO TEST BOOM BOOM

PhilBoxing.com

It is 33-fight veteran Daniel Ruiz of Sinaloa, Mexico?s turn to try and stop Filipino Rey ?Boom Boom? Bautista in his tracks towards his quest for a world title bid come October 20, 2012 in Manila, Philippines when both combatants face each other for the WBO International Featherweight Title.

Ruiz, W 27 (KO 19) L 5 D 1 will be the 5th Mexican who will try to beat Bautista since he last lost to Heriberto Ruiz in the United States in 2008. Heriberto Ruiz and Alejandro Barrera twice tried to beat Bautista along with fellow Mexicans Miguel Mendoza and Genaro ?Panterita? Garcia who all failed to do so.

Ruiz?s power and experience as reflected in his record is a threat to consider by the Bautista camp, as he likes to end things quickly. 17 of his 19 KO wins came on or before the 4th round, which is quite an intimidating statistic.

Bautista on the other hand has expressed his intention of doing all he can to climb at the top of the boxing?s summit. Fueled by his refusal to fall back into poverty, Bautista said, ? I went into boxing and strived to get to where I am now because I hated the impoverished life. I do not want my family to experience that ever again. That is my motivation.?

The Bautista-Ruiz match-up for the WBO International Featherweight Title will be 1 of the 2 co-man features of Pinoy Pride XVII who features the Philippines and WBO World # 1 AJ ?Bazooka? Banal vs WBO World # 2 Pungluang Sorsingyu of Thailand.

The other championship feature will showcase the 1st defense of Jason ?El Nino? Pagara?s WBO International Light Welterweight title against undefeated Miguel Antoine of Barbados.

Two other boxers from different nations will also be doing battle in the ring against our Filipino ring warriors making it five different nationalities against our five Filipino fighters in one event.

Pinoy Pride XVII Philippines vs The World is brought to you by ALA Promotions and the Philippines biggest and leading television network ABS-CBN Corporation through ABS-CBN Sports.
