MUNOZ VS BOUVIER / CUELLO VS MENESES IN MORELIA, MX ON SEP 29

PhilBoxing.com

LADIES FIRST...ZULINA MUNOZ AND GABRIELA BOUVIER TO SQUARE OFF FOR MUNOZ' WBC SILVER BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29 IN MORELIA, MEXICO

DENVER CUELLO FACES IVAN MENESES IN CO-FEATURE TELEVISA TO TELEVISE IN MEXICO & FOX DEPORTES TO AIR IN THE UNITED STATES

LOS ANGELES, September 26 - The ladies of boxing will be on center stage on Saturday, September 29 as Televisa and FOX Deportes travel to the Morelia Michoacan Municipal Auditorium in Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico to air the showdown for the 10 round fight between Mexico City's Zulina "La Loba" Munoz and Uruguay's Gabriela Bouvier for Munoz' WBC Women's Silver Bantamweight Title.

In the televised co-main event, scheduled for 10 rounds in the minimumweight division, Philippines' Denver "Excitement" Cuello takes on Tijuana's Ivan Meneses.

Munoz vs. Bouvier, a 10 round fight for Munoz' WBC Women's Silver Bantamweight Title, is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Canelo Promotions. The Televisa broadcast will air on Canal 5 and begins at 10:30 p.m. CT and the FOX Deportes broadcast of Munoz vs. Bouvier begins at 11:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. PT. The entire televised card will air on Sunday, September 30 at 6:00 p.m. ET/3:00 p.m. PT.

One of the fight game's busiest competitors, Zulina Munoz (34-1-2, 23 KO's) has been boxing for nine of her 25 years, and in that time, she has proven herself to be one of her sport's best, pound for pound. Having captured NABF, WBC International, WBC Youth and WBC Silver championships, the only belt Munoz is missing is a world title belt, and with a current unbeaten streak that now stretches to 20 fights, her time to complete her collection is likely approaching soon.

What Gabriela "La Gaby" Bouvier (8-2-1, 2 KO's) may lack in experience when compared to her opponent, she makes up in talent and desire. A native of Maldonado, Uruguay, Bouvier has come a long way in her short two-year professional career, with her only losses coming to the world-renowned Mariana Juarez. Coming off of a 77 second knockout win over Carina Maria Britos in June, the 20-year-old is determined to leave Mexico with a title belt around her waist.

When you're nicknamed "The Excitement," you'd better bring it on fight night and that's just what 25-year-old Denver Cuello (31-4-6, 21 KO's) does every time he steps through the ropes. Fighting out of Binangonan, Philippines, Cuello has been on quite a hot streak, going 10-0 over the last two years, with all ten wins coming by knockout. The recent winner of the WBC Silver minimumweight title, this southpaw banger is coming to Mexico with thoughts of another knockout win.

A veteran of nearly eight years as a professional boxer, Ivan Meneses (16-4-2, 10 KO's) is a versatile competitor who can handle himself in any situation that he encounters in the ring. A former world title challenger who faced Roman "El Chocolatito"Gonzalez for the WBA Minimumweight World Title in 2010, Meneses has won four of his last six fights, including two in a row. Fresh off of a 12 round win over then 22-1-3 Luis Ceja in July for the IBF Latino belt, Meneses is ready for more glory this Saturday night against Cuello.
