JHONREIL CASIMERO TO DEFEND IBF WORLD CROWN THIS NOVEMBER IN THE PHILIPPINES

PhilBoxing.com

Manila ? IBF Jr. Flyweight World Champion Jhonriel Casimero is back in training after a well-deserved vacation following his successful bout in Mexico against undefeated Pedro Guevara for the regular IBF Jr. Flyweight World title that was elevated by the IBF President after Ulises Solis was not ready for his mandatory due to medical reasons.

Back in action at the Omega Gym in Cebu, Casimero is gearing up for his next defense this November against a top ten IBF ranked fighter to be announced by promoter Sammy Gello-ani and international promoter Sampson Lewkowicz.

"It will be definitely held in the Philippines," Gello-ani informed. Gello-ani also stressed that he has already started negotiation with an interested network however, he also points out that he will also sit down to have discussion about the Casimero defense with Anson Tiu Co, President of Shape-up Boxing Promotions.

The Youthful Anson Tiu Co, who is promoting the Saludar-Tirado WBO Oriental bout this September 21st at the Cuneta Astrodome, has great ideas that can help fighters develop and be more recognized through his television production which Gello-ani is interested in.

?We are open to Anson Tiu Co's ideas and I will discuss what is viable for Casimero?s direction with him. As his promoter, we want him to be active to defend his title as much as we can and we will work to have his first well deserved first defense right here in the Philippines this November."

Jhonriel Casimero became an internet sensation on YouTube with over a million hits after that unfortunate incident in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

As we all know by now that the Philippines did not just stand by but had filed a diplomatic protest against Argentina, which foreign ministry spokesman Raul Hernandez said that Argentina?s ambassador to Manila had been summoned to the Department of Foreign Affairs.

Hernandez said: ?Our embassy in Buenos Aires filed a protest on February 13 to the Argentine government over the riot which happened on February 11 which placed the safety and well-being of Mr. Casimero and his team at great danger.
Thereafter, Hernandez confirmed that Argentina?s embassy in Manila had apologized for that incident."

This coming November, Casimero will now at least have the comfort of a homecourt crowd who fight fans will surely appreciate him defending his World title here in the Philippines.

Promoter Sammy Gello-ani informed that he is looking into the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City sometime in November, "this will be confirmed after we solidify the opponent and the approval of the IBF organization."

"In our eyes, Casimero showed heroism for his brilliance in winning the world title in Argentina over an unpredictable situation and should be cited for his heroic bravery to just take cover instead of retaliating, showing his love and respect for his sport."

?We are not enemies? just participants of the sports that we love," said Casimero.

The win over an undefeated prospect Pedro Guevara recently in Mexico was surely an icing on the cake for him, solidifying Casimero as a true World Champion and for some as the ?peoples champion from the Philippines."
