FORMER WORLD CHAMP PEREZ ARRIVES TO TEST MELINDO PhilBoxing.com Fri, 14 Sep 2012 Former world champion and current WBA World # 4 Jean Piero Perez of Venezuela and his team is expected to arrive today at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport for his highly-anticipated encounter with WBA World # 7 Filipino Milan ?El Metoico? Melindo on the main event of Pinoy Pride XVI Venezuelan Invasion scheduled September 22, 2012 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino Philippines. Team Perez arrives tonight September 14, 2012 via Philippine Airlines Flight PR855 in Cebu, Philippines. The former champ took a flight out of Panama where he resides to Amsterdam and to cebu, Philippines via Manila. With Perez is his trainer Francisco Arroyo and Team member Lucio Lam Mejia who are quite confident their ward will be able to upset the surging Melindo and wrest the WBO International belt from the latter. Perez won the WBA Flyweight Championship via UD over Mexican Jesus Jimenez in Guadalajara, Mexico last 2011 showing that this Venezuelan invader is capable of winning at the opponents backyard. Team Perez will be housed at the Golden Prince Hotel from September 14 to 17 and will then be checked in at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
