THE RISE OF GENESIS SERVANIA PhilBoxing.com Mon, 13 Aug 2012  Philippine top prospect and recently crowned WBC International Silver Super Bantamweight Champion Genesis ?Azukal? Servania of the ALA Gym Philippines has been creating much of a stir in the boxing community impressing scribes and fans alike with superb performances when featured on the ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports? Pinoy pride boxing series. The young 20-year old Servania who has been racking up consecutive wins against international prospects and tested veterans has been nothing but magnificently glorious during his performances of late against top quality opponents in Gerson Guerrero, Marcos Cardenas and Genaro ?Poblanito? Garcia. During his first major test, ?Azukal? went toe to toe with grizzled veteran Gerson Guerrero of Mexico who has battled champions Daniel Ponce De Leon and Christian Mijares. Boxing experts were questioning if the Bacolod City native Servania was ready for such a test but the youngster from the Philippines served a boxing clinic to the delight of the people in attendance and the boxing fans who watched on television. Questions were still thrown around if Servania is really for real so the Philippines premier boxing promotions company ALA Promotions who handles Servania brought in a young and then undefeated Mexican warrior Marcos Cardenas who at that time was on a tear winning 12 of his 13 fights knocking down 9 of his opponents within 4 rounds. Once again Servania displayed a superlatively splendid boxing performance flooring the prospect from Mexico in the 1st and 4the rounds keeping his adversary on the back foot. Pushing the envelope, ALA Promotions recently flew in battle-worthy Genaro ?Poblanito? Garcia again from Mexico who has fought and pushed world champions Tokashi Nishioka, Wilfredo Vasquez, Jr., Hozumi Hasegawa, Luis Alberto Perez and has beaten hall of fame bound Rafael Marquez to once again test Servania. Servania started out nicely controlling the more experienced Garcia but I the middle rounds, as when veteran fighters usually do, Garcia tried to rally back push his way in applying pressure to the young Servania who had to work doubly hard in fending off the hard charging Mexican. Servania though showed composure beyond his years and stuck with his game plan catching Garcia with a well place uppercut to the chin following it up with multiple shots flooring the spent Garcia in the middle of the 12th and final round. Garcia stood up but it did not take long for Servania to deliver the final blow to put the icing on the cake ending the hotly contested battle. Come 18th of August at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel Casino as co main feature of ALA Promotions and ABS CBN Sports? Pinoy Pride XV: Philippines vs Mexico THE REMATCH, Servania will face another Mexican warrior in Jorge Pazos and will again try to prove himself to the boxing world that he is the for real. Should Servania oblige the boxing fans with a remarkable and superb performance against Pazos, This could well be the Genesis of Servania?s Rise.  |
