TEAM RODRIGUEZ UPBEAT GOING INTO WBO ASIA-PACIFIC BANTAM TITLE BOUT

PhilBoxing.com

Roy Kaamenio, manager of bantamweight Fredirex Rodriguez and head trainer Jake Verano are positive about their boxer?s chances against Vincent Palicte in their battle for the vacant WBO Asia-Pacific title.

Kabalo mi nga underdog mi ini nga fight kay mas labaw sa experience si Palicte pero among paninguhaon nga makadaug" Kaamenio said from their home gym in Valencia City, Bukidnon.

(We are very excited to go to Mandaluyong to get the shiny WBO Asia Pacific belt and bring it back to Bukidnon. Frederix is well prepared, he has done everything we asked for in training and he is ready to fight this Aug. 16. We know that we are the underdog because Palicte has more experience but we will give it our best effort to win.)

Jake Verano, a former professional boxer turned trainer said,"Nakakita nako ug fight anang Palicte.

(I have seen Palicte fight. He has good defense and good technique but Frederix can take his power. We know it will be difficult for us to win if it reaches twelve rounds because he is a good technical boxer but every round, we will try to hurt Palicte and go for the knockout win.)

Rodriguez for his part said, "Gi-develop namo ang akong aggressiveness ug power para ini nga fight.

(We trained to develop more power for this fight. I know if I can hit him hard, I will knock him out.)

Team Rodriguez will arrive in Manila Airport early morning Wednesday, August 15 from Cagayan De Oro. Official weigh-in is scheduled August 15 at 10am at GAB Main Office, Makati City. The fights in Mandaluyong City Gymnasium will start at exactly 4pm.
