HUGO CAZARES VS. DANIEL DIAZ & DANIEL ESTRADA VS. ADRIAN VERDUGO TO AIR ON FOX DEPORTES ON AUGUST 11 FROM LOS MOCHIS, SINALOA, MEXICO

PhilBoxing.com

LOS ANGELES, August 7 - The Polideportivo Centenario de Los Mochis, Sinaloa,, Mexico, will be the site for what promises to be an explosive championship doubleheader televised by FOX Deportes on Saturday, August 11 when former Two-Division World Champion Hugo Cazares battles Daniel Diaz in a scheduled 12-round super bantamweight bout for the vacant NABF title and Mexican knockout artists Daniel Estrada and Adrian Verdugo collide for the vacant WBC Silver Lightweight crown in fight scheduled for 12-rounds.

Cazares vs. Diaz and Estrada vs. Verdugo are presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Canelo Promotions. The FOX Deportes broadcast airs at 10:00 p.m. ET/7:00 p.m. PT.

Already having won world championships at junior flyweight and super flyweight, the boxing legacy of Hugo Cazares (36-7-2, 26 KO's) is set in stone, but the 34-year-old southpaw from Los Mochis, Sinaloa, Mexico is hungry to wear championship gold once again, and on August 11 he will continue his quest against Daniel Diaz. Unbeaten in 10 of his last 11 fights, including five title fight victories at 115 pounds, Cazares moved up to the super bantamweight division in November of 2011 and impressively stopped Adan Garcia in seven rounds. He'll look to keep that momentum this weekend against Diaz.

26-year-old Nicaraguan Daniel Diaz (19-3-1, 14 KO's) is known to fight fans as "El General," and that's an apt nickname considering that the Managua product's command of the ring. A former NABA Bantamweight champion whose only loss since 2010 came in a tough title fight against WBA World Champion Koki Kameda, Diaz is coming off of a second round knockout win over Rafael Castillo in July and is eager to test himself against former World Champion Cazares.

Mexico City's Daniel "Tremendo" Estrada (28-2-1, 21 KO's) always brings the heat on fight night as evidenced by his 14 knockouts in three rounds or less and his punishing power with both hands. A WBC Continental Americas and WBC FECARBOX lightweight champion who has won five fights in a row, the 27-year-old banger is determined to add the vacant WBC Silver Lightweight title to his impressive collection of belts on August 11.

With 15 of his knockout wins ending before the bell to begin round four, Los Mochis' Adrian Verdugo (22-5-1, 19 KO's) can match Estrada when it comes to power. However, despite his recent success, which has seen him win four fights in a row and five of his last six, the hard-hitting prospect has yet to compete for a professional title. That situation will be rectified this weekend and he plans on making the most of the opportunity.
