Sanman Boxing Gym's talent pool has just gotten deeper after two promising boxers recently joined its fold.
Bringing with them stellar credentials that saw them making a name for themselves in the amateur ranks, Dave Apolinario and Mark Andrew Antonio are the newest members of the General Santos City-based stable.
The two signed long-term deals with the the Sanman Promotions, the promotional arm of the Sanman Boxing Gym headed by chief finance officer (CFO) Dexter Tan and chief executive officer (CEO) Jim Claude ?JC? Manangquil.
The 18-year-old Apolinario from Maasim, Sarangani is the brother of former world title challenger John Mark Apolinario. He is a two-time Palarong Pambansa gold medalist and is managed by businessman Mike Pelayo.
?I am happy to join the Sanman family. I am sure Sanman promotions will guide me to my dream of becoming a world champion,? said Apolinario.
On the other hand, Antonio, a native of President Roxas, North Cotabato, is a Philippine National Games (PNG) silver medalist.
?I thank Sanman for the trust and I'm excited for my professional debut,? Antonio said.
?I am happy with the addition of the top amateur boxers from our region. Both of them are very talented and I'm excited for their future,? Manangquil said.
Apolinario and Antonio's mettle will be tested right away as they will see action in the undercard of the ?Brawl at the Mall: The Homecoming? fight card slated June 10 at the Robinsons Mall Atrium in General Santos.
Apolinario will battle Prince Canonero, while Antonio will take on Rusty Padua.
The card will be headlined by Sanman's prized ward Romero Duno, who will face Jason Tinampay.###
