DAPUDONG, SITYATHA CAMPS AGREE TO REMATCH IN DAVAO
By Manny Piñol PhilBoxing.com Sat, 19 Jul 2014

East London, South Africa - Even before Edrin Dapudong's camp could leave the city where he lost his International Boxing Organization (IBO) Super Flyweight title by split decision last night, the camp of the new champion, Lwandile Sityatha, has agreed in principle to a rematch to be held in Davao City before the end of the year.
Agreeing that the fight was exciting and close, Sityatha's promoter, Ayanda Matiti, and former North Cotabato Gov. Manny Pinol, chief executive officer of Sonshine Sports Management which handles Dapudong's career, shook hands to seal the rematch in front of Len Hunt, the IBO vice president for Asia and Africa.
The rematch between the two fighters was actually stipulated in the contract which Dapudong signed before he agreed to travel to South Africa to defend his title.
The Dapudong-Sityatha II is expected to be staged in time for the launching of the Sonshine Sports TV, a new sports channel on free TV which will focus on sports disciplines involving Filipino athletes.
Hunt said he has relayed the information on the agreement for a rematch to IBO President Ed Levine who is based in Florida, USA.
