IIEE Metro Central dominates the IIEE National Midyear Convention sportsfest

The IIEE Metro Central Chapter (MCC) Chess team composed of Randy Turreda, Ronald Donasco and Evaristo Tizon emerged as top IIEE team in the chess tournament of the IIEE National Midyear convention held at Eagle Ridge Golf Country Club General Trias Cavite last May 8, 2026.
The MCC emerged victorious in dart tournament with Mark Ryan Serafines as champion, Jerson Bergatin as 1st Runner up and Kenneth Lloyd Berguera as 2nd Runner up. MCC Emman Allada is double champion in pickleball winning the mixed double with Ella Caraan of Metro North and men’s double with Richard Cruz of MCC.
Other winners in pickleball on Mix Doubles are 3rd Runner Up from Northern Cavite Kim Gabilo and Bryan Palustre, 2nd Runner Up from National FNP Jojo Padua and FP Metro South Leight Lipata and 1st Runner Up from Western Batangas Vianca Silva and John Paul Dinglasan; while on Men's Doubles are the 2nd Runner Up from Metro North Christian Mercado and Mark Santiano, 1st Runner Up from Northern Batangas John Chester Gutierrez and Val Abueg.
In billiard, Melvin Vista of Southern Cavite chapter emerged as Champion with Gerome Atienza of Metro South chapter and Mark Joshua Saraza - as 1st Runner up and 2nd runner up respectively.
The sport festival was successfully organized by Sports Committee Chairman Engr. Gensen Cariño with sports head from Basketball – Engr. Ace Bisnar, Pickleball – Engr. Bryan Palustre, Chess – Engr. Noe Arca, Darts – Engr. Ronald Rocha and Billiards – Engr. Alvin Matthew Sespeñe. Solicar Construction and Supply and Philflex also supported shirts for the committee and chess players. -Marlon Bernardino-
