Influencer/boxer Brooklyn Barwick anxious to Bounce back from first loss this Saturday in South Carolina

PhilBoxing.com

NEW YORK CITY (May 12, 2026) – Unlike her training preparation for her previous pro boxing matches, social media influencer Brooklyn “The Big Deal” Barwick (4-1, 4 KOs) is coming off her first loss for this Saturday’s fight against Shaniqua Frazier in a 4-round bout on the “Riot at The Rocket” card at the state Fairgrounds in Columbia, South Carolina.

In her sixth professional bout (she has 2 KO victories in South America that she hasn’t been credited for by boxrec.com), Barwick was on the short end of a questionable loss by way of a six-round decision (59-55, 58-56, 58-56) in the Dominican Republic against local fighter Grecia Novas Mateo for the vacant National Boxing Association (NBA) Female Americas Featherweight Championship.

Barwick, 26, hailing from Newport Beach and Laguna Beach but now based in Manhattan (NY), had attempted to become the first female Jewish professional boxer to capture a pro boxing title.

“Physically, it’s been the same but mentally it was different,” she explained what it has been like training for a fight after her first loss. “I felt broken after my last fight for a couple of weeks. I’m back but it was mentally exhausting. I can’t wait to shut up some people to prove I’m not a journeywomen.

“I learned to stop waiting; I think too much. Don’t think, just do it; that is what I’ve been working on. I can’t show my opponent where my punches are coming from.”

Brooklyn trains at the New York City Cops and Kids gym in Brooklyn, under the guidance of trainer Jimmy Sosa, and she is managed by Sullivan Management.

“I’m making my USA debut,” Barwick noted. “I’m excited to have my mother there to watch me fight for the first time. I’m going to show her that I’m developing into a strong person.”

Barwick’s five official fights to date have been in the Dominican twice, two times in Mexico, and once in Chile.

“Everyone at Sullivan Management is proud to support Brooklyn Barwick as she makes her USA debut,” Barwick’s manager Keith Sullivan commented. “This is a major moment in her career and a huge opportunity to introduce American fight fans to her talent, determination, and personality Brooklyn has the work ethic and mindset of someone destined for big things in this sport, and we’re excited to help guide her journey every step of the way.”

Sullivan, a former New York State Athletic Commission Deputy Commissioner, also manages undefeated 3-time, 2-division World Champion Miyo Yoshida (19-5, 1 KO), undefeated Brooklyn heavyweight prospect Pryce Taylor (12-0, 8 KOs),Bronx NYPD officer Nisa Rodriguez (4-1, 2 KOs), Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga (21-1, 21 KOs), undefeated Brooklyn Heavyweight lightweight Fei Faiva (6-0-1, 4 KOs). Sullivan co-manages IBF Welterweight World title challenger Paddy “The Real Deal” Donovan (14-2, 11 KOs) and his cousin, middleweight Jim Donovan (2-0, 1 KO), alongside coach and ex-world champion Andy Lee.
