AQ Prime to host 2 big tournaments

A productive and meaningful meeting was held with AQ Prime CEO/President Atty. Aldwin Alegre and National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) Chairman/President Cong. Prospero Pichay Jr. together with NCFP CEO Grandmaster Jayson Gonzales and tournament director National Master Jose Rafael "Jojo" Legaspi.
AQ Prime and the National Chess Federation of the Philippines (NCFP) officially signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for two major international chess events set in 2026.
The 2nd AQ Prime Philippines Invitational Chess Championship on July 11-19, 2026 followed by AQ Prime International Chess Championship on August 22-30, 2026.
"The MOA was formally signed by FM/Atty. Aldwin Alegre and NCFP Chairman/President Cong. Prospero Pichay Jr. , marking another significant step on promoting Philippine chess on the international stage," said NCFP Chief Executive officer Grandmaster Jayson Gonzales.
Meanwhile, all is set for the staging of 10th AQ Prime FIDE Standard Open chess tournament on June 6 to 7, 2026 at Lower Ground Floor Activity Area, Ali Mall, Araneta City, Quezon City.
The champion will earn P10,000.
The second place will receive P7,000, the third will pocket P5,000, the fourth will bring home P3,000, and the fifth will get P2,000.
6th to 10th place will receive P1,000 each.
