In the co-main event, undefeated cruiserweight Robin “ROBZ” Safar (19-0, 13 KOs) will challenge for the WBC Silver cruiserweight title held by Buenos Aires, Argentina’s Yamil Peralta (18-1-1, 10 KOs) in a 12-round showdown. Peralta will be making his U.S. debut after capturing multiple regional titles and previously challenging for the WBC interim cruiserweight title.

“Looking forward to putting on a spectacular performance in front of San Jose fans,” said Robin Safar. “I have my sights set on becoming a world champion this year and Peralta being ranked #2 by the WBC is the perfect available opponent. I’ve already put the division on notice since cracking into the top 10, now I’m going to put every champion on notice with this performance. I’m coming for all of them!”

“I am so excited for this tremendous opportunity coming up on May 22, where we will be defending the WBC Silver world title,” said Yamil Peralta. “My entire team and I have been preparing extremely hard for a challenge of this level. I especially want to thank all the people who have always supported us. First and foremost, the WBC and its president Mauricio Sulaimán, who has always believed in us; my promoter Charly Tello of Tello Box for making this fight possible; and my manager Ignacio Martínez. I also want to thank Golden Boy Promotions for this opportunity. We are going to defend this belt the best way possible. I have the experience necessary to come away with the victory and launch my career onto the biggest stage, leaving everything in the ring. We hope to return to Argentina victorious and share this joy with all of our people.”

Also featured on the televised DAZN card, Las Vegas’ Tristan “Sweet T” Kalkreuth (16-1, 11 KOs) returns in a 10-round cruiserweight clash against Michoacán, Mexico’s Marco Canedo (8-3-1, 5 KOs).
