CEBU-Jason ?CNJ Cobra? Canoy (15W-3L-2D, 10 KO's) of the Omega Boxing Gym of Cebu City will face Arlon ?Turbo? Batingal (7W-5L, 4 KO's) this Saturday January 5 in a scheduled ten rounder at the northern municipality of Borbon, Cebu.
The protagonists had their official weigh-in today at the GAB-Cebu office supervised by Rolando Mendoza and Celso Miranda. Canoy stepped in at 115 lbs while Batingal weighed 118. Batingal was given an hour to lose weight.
A Philippine Boxing Federation belt will be at stake in this bout. Canoy beat Ryan Bongcawel by ninth round knockout last July at the J Centre Mall in Mandaue City and three months later had a technical draw against Jetli Purisima in Dalaguete. Batingal lost to Renoel Pael by unanimous decision in Siquijor last September but bounced back with a first round knockout win over Jonathan Ricablanca last December in Butuan City.
