Bacaro to challenge Toyoshima on April 4

CARLO “Brown Sugar” Bacaro of Negros Oriental will challenge reigning WBO Asia Pacific super welterweight champion Ryota Toyoshima in Japan on April 4 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo.
The 26-year-old Bacaro [14-1-0, 8KOs] is presently training at the Verano Boxing Club in Hong Kong.
He is trained by coaches Allan Garces of Cebu and Jake Verano, who is based in Hong Kong.
“We prepared for it and our preparation was good,” said Bacaro, who is still 70kg.
Bacaro and Garces will leave for Japan on April 2.
They have been in Hong Kong for almost two weeks now.
“This is a good fight and we prepared for it. I can't predict the result, as long as I win because this is the most important thing for my boxing career,” said Bacaro.
Bacaro recently scored a unanimous decision against Chan Sala of Thailand last October 10 in Hong Kong.
He earlier lost for the first time against Pavel Sosulin of Russia by a 3rd round knockout last January 17 in Yerevan, Russia.
Toyoshima, 30 [22-3-1, 12KOs], on the other hand, is taller than Bacaro by two and half inches [5’9 1/2].
Toyoshima claimed the vacant WBO Asia Pacific and Japan Boxing Commission Japanese super welterweight titles by a unanimous decision over compatriot Rikuto Adachi last October 4 at Korakuen Hall.
