Las Vegas, NV - Despite being involved in promoting the biggest fight of the year and probably his career, Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao is not forgetting his countrymen that is affected by a massive typhoon in the Philippines.

"Kailangan nating mag pray. Ipag-pray natin sa Panginoon dahil siya ang nakakaalam sa lahat."

(We all need to pray. Let us pray to God because he knows the reason for everything.) Pacquiao replied when he was asked about it in Wednesday's final press conference for his Saturday fight with Juan Manuel Marquez.

The multi awarded boxer and congressman of Sarangani Province expressed his sympathy to the victims of Typhoon "Pablo" which wrecked havoc in the southern part of the Philippines.

"Nakikiramay ako sa mga pamilya na nasalanta ng bagyo at mga namatayan, nakikiramay ako sa inyo."

(I extend my condolences to everyone affected by this typhoon. And to those of you who suffered a loss, I extend my condolences to all of you.) Pacquiao expressed.

Pacquiao assured reporters gathered here at the MGM Grand that he has assigned people in his province to help the victims of the said calamity.

Typhoon "Pablo" has left a trail of destruction on its path, particularly in Mindanao where Pacquiao hails from.

It has so far affected more than 200,000 people and has left at least 274 casualties as per reports from various Philippine news agencies.

Pacquiao who is known for his generosity divulged that all kinds of help will be given to those affected by the typhoon, especially in his province.

"Some of my personal money will go to the typhoon victims." Pacquiao divulged today.

Juan Manuel Marquez may be taking a huge portion of Manny Pacquiao's thoughts lately, but the boxer - congressman of Sarangani Province does not forget his suffering countrymen 7000 miles away.

"Para sa inyo ang laban na ito." (This fight is for all of you.) Pacquiao promised.
