Montoya Brothers have better records than listed on Boxrec By Mike Angel Lopez PhilBoxing.com Tue, 28 Aug 2012 In another mystery that surrounds the accurate records of boxers in faraway places, the Montoya brothers have accumulated many fights in their hometown that have not been recorded on Boxrec.com. In a phone conversation with the father of the Montoya brothers earlier today, Magdaleno expressed that his younger son Eduardo ?Fierita? Montoya has accumulated more than 20 wins and not the 10-2-1, 9KO?s that is posted on Boxrec.com. His other son Daniel Montoya is listed on Boxrec.com with a record of 8-3, 6KO?s but in the conversation with the elder Montoya he says his son has more than 25 wins. He expressed he will get the official records of his son so they show the exact fights his boys have fought. The local Mexican boxing commission will have all their fight histories. This comes to light when Rosbel Montoya came into town for his first fight with Pagara and he was listed on Boxrec.com with a record of 13-2, 12KO?S. He was shocked to know that and said that was inaccurate. He said he had a record of 32-3, 29KO?s. This drew a long silence in the crowd of Cebuano reporters who were shocked and amazed. When the dust settled, the whole 7,107 islands in the Philippines were also shocked and amazed that Pagara was taken to school by the much experienced Montoya and that fight will go down in history in the boxing talk of Cebu. The second fight proved to show the Pagara we all knew. He was sharp, fast and powerful. Montoya claimed he injured his arm in the fight and contributed to his KO loss. There seems to be only one way to solve the tie breaker, a third match. Pinoy Pride XV garnered the highest rating bonanza of all the Pinoy Pride events. It was such a hit; it beat out two past World title fights in the Pinoy Pride events. The fans knew this was going to be a blockbuster fight. It was a slam bang card from start to finish. The score is even Jason Pagara 1 win and 1 loss, Rosbel Montoya 1 win and 1 loss. If the ratings of their second encounter show that the fans knew what they were going to expect, the third will be even bigger and better with his 2 brothers backing him up, it will be SHOWTIME IN CEBU!
