Ana Julaton Wins as a Boxing Trainer!!!

PhilBoxing.com

The female fighting pride of the Filipino's World Wide may have opened the door to a new career tonight as a boxing trainer in sold out house at the West Wind Event Center in Berkeley Ca. Julaton's boxing pupil Nate "The Moose" Houghteling won the main event in the Epic conclusion of the Web Reality series called White Collar Brawler. With a solid game plan crafted by the 3 time World Champion Filipina, "The Moose" as the crowd chanted his name all evening used in and out movement, a constant attack and a superior Jab to defeat Kai "The half Asian Sensation" Hasson.

In the first round Houghteling was relentless in his attack and a few times threw big right hands which Hasson was luckily able to slip early but was landing late in the round. The entire first round was clearly dominated by the Julaton pupil showing his main strength which was a superior Jab. But high drama was in place as Round two began with a huge straight right from Hasson forcing Houghteling to grab as he may have been staggered. " Kai definitely hit with a big shot and thanks to my conditioning Coach Lauro Doroliat I was able recover quickly and go back to my basics" said the very happy winner.

The second round was very close with most believing Kai Hasson might have gotten the edge. "I know I'm going to win, it's how I'm going to win and I think it's going to be in the second round" said Hasson to CBS channel 5 reporter Grace Lee in an interview earlier that evening. But it wasn't meant to be as Nate Houghteling thoroughly dominated the third round with punch count activity and relentless aggression. "I told Nate that this was it, two minutes and that he has all the conditioning he needs to go all out! I was very proud of how he did overall especially since we only got to work with each other for two and a half weeks." said the proud Coach Julaton.

The two combatants plan on continuing their training and were both very thankful to the 3 time World Champion Julaton for helping with their web series. "Ana Julaton is so calm in the corner and her experience as a World Champion really resonated with me tonight and gave me the edge I needed for the victory" said the WCB (White Collar Brawler) Champion Houghteling.

Julaton was asked are there any future fights where she will be a Coach/Trainer and her response was modest as always " I really appreciate what Freddie Roach has shown me by example in being calm when he was in my corner for every fight I had with him. I like being a Coach and seeing boxing from that perspective but for now I want to spend some time with my family for the rest of the year and I'll be back to training for my upcoming fight in early 2011."

Rumors about what's next for the "Hurricane" includes a new Gym Grand Opening in San Francisco January 2011 then possible fights in late February and early April to continue her quest to become the undisputed 122lbs Champion. " I can't wait for her New Gym to open in January and I will be the first one to sign up" said Houghteling.

With the poise Ana Julaton showed tonight as a boxing trainer it may not be too long until we see the Filipina follow in the footsteps of her Coach the legendary Freddie Roach who is in the Philippines right now to celebrate with Manny Pacquiao.

For those who missed the fight, Here is the fight live stream...Go forward to 19:52 mark to listen to Prefight interview of Ana Julaton and fast forward to the 35:09 mark to see the fight!
