"LITTLE PACQUIAO" CONDES CONTINUES HIS COMEBACK

PhilBoxing.com

Former IBF Minimum weight Champion Florante ?Little Pacquiao? Condes continues his comeback when he battles former OPBF title challenger, Japanese warrior Kenichi Horikawa (20-8-1, 4 KO?s) on ?PINOY PRIDE 2: Best of the Best? at the Waterfront Hotel and Casino in Cebu City on November 27.

Nicknamed the ?Little Pacquiao? the hard-hitting southpaw came back from a one year lay-off as the supporting undercard of the very successful Philippines vs The World mega-card of ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports last August 28.

In his comeback fight Condes who is ranked No. 7 by the WBO and No. 10 by the WBC showed no signs of ring rust, scoring an impressive eight round unanimous decision over Indonesian Sofyan Effendi in a fight where he displayed his speed and power.

Condes won the title with a fine showing against Indonesian champion Muhammad Rachman on July 7, 2007 but lost the title in a controversial split decision to Raul ?Rayito? Garcia in Garcia?s hometown of La Paz, Mexico on June 14, 2008.

Condes said he is ?very excited to fight again especially in Cebu and I would like to thank Sir Tony and ALA Promotions President Michael Aldeguer for giving me another opportunity to do what I love to do best and that is boxing.?

Condes was supposed to train at the ALA Gym in Cebu for his upcoming fight but a family emergency quickly changed his plans. He said ?I would have wanted to do my preparations at the ALA Gym but unfortunately something happened. My mother lost a leg and I have to train close to her so I could at least be with her for support. I am more motivated because of this.?

Condes who has a record of 20 knockouts ub 24 wins with 5 losses and 1 draw will clash with Horikawa who is coming off a unanimous decision win over fellow Japanese Yuma Iwahashi last October 21, 2010. Horikawa who is currently ranked No. 7 by the OPBF earlier lost in a clash for the vacant Oriental and Pacific light flyweight title to Michael Landero of the Philippines in April this year..

PINOY PRIDE 2: Best of the Best is part of a series presented by ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports and is supported by the City Government of Cebu.
