GMA KAPUSO NETWORK AIRING NIETES TITLE DEFENSE

The Philippines Kapuso Network GMA 7 will be airing WBO Minimumweight World Champion Donnie Nietes? title defense on Sunday August 15, 2010 3 PM.
The champion from the Philippines Nietes is scheduled to face tough Mexican Mario Rodriguez in a 12 round championship bout on August 14, 2010 at the hometown of his opponent Luis Estrada Medina Stadium in Sinaloa, Mexico.
This is going to be the third time Nietes will be defending his title in hostile territory and a win could propel the Filipino champion to greater heights placing him third overall on the list of longest reigning Filipino boxers next only to the Luisito Espinosa who held his title for three years and five months at number two and the great Gabriel ?Flash? Elorde who reigned for seven years holding the top spot.
The Kapuso Network GMA 7 has expressed a lot of interest in supporting the Filipino champion and wants to help promote the unassuming and under rated Donnie Nietes and help preserve one of the two remaining world champions the Philippines have by airing his fights for the Filipinos to enjoy.
Pride, Honor and a World title is at stake for the man they call AHAS. All he has to do is win and win convincingly and his life could be more in the upswing.
