Pacquiao in Pain By Robbie Pangilinan PhilBoxing.com Thu, 03 Jun 2010 Manny Pacquiao, the world?s pound-for-pound king, in pain? It is unthinkable, probably impossible, for the only boxer to win seven world titles in seven different weight classes to give pain a big deal. But the People?s Champ does feel pain?after a rigorous training day, when a boxing fight is done, even when he ran and lost during the 2007 elections and when he and wife Jinkee have misunderstandings. Just recently, Manny was taken to the hospital because of ulcer. He is just as human as the rest of us. But, being a true champion, the Pambansang Kamao endures pain and considers it as his badge of honor. ?In reality, Manny Pacquiao also gets tired and fatigued. Sumasakit din ang katawan niya, umaaray din siya. Just like the ordinary Filipino working man,? says Sheila Rono, Alaxan FR Brand Representative. When he is in pain, Pacquiao turns to the country?s top pain relief brand Alaxan FR which launches with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) the ?Search for the Toughest Jobs in the Philippines? to recognize the Pinoys who face the daily grind with pride, resiliency and toughness. ?We want to reinforce the idea that there?s no need to feel shame in pain because it?s actually one sign that you?ve exerted enough effort to do your job well, that every pain has a purpose. In the case of Manny, it?s the pain of training for a boxing title; for the promodizer, it?s the long commute to be able to reach the groceries and stock products well for consumers ease; for the teacher, it?s the leg cramps after long hours of standing so he/she can impart knowledge,? shares Rono. Alaxan FR has a new campaign titled, ?Aray Ko, Galing Ko? with a fresh TV commercial with Pacquiao coming out by mid-June to celebrate the dignity of labor and the Filipinos? resilience and strength. The ?Search for the Toughest Jobs in the Philippines? is part of the campaign and is open to all working Filipinos. Details of the search are in www.toughjobsphilippines.com. DOLE fully supports the project, and hopes that this partnership with Alaxan FR ?will create solutions and opportunities for human capability and development,? according to Undersecretary Rosalinda Baldoz, Cluster Head of Labor Relations. For 15 years, Pacquiao has trusted Alaxan FR for his body pains. ?Kahit sa stress ng pulitika, mabisa,? the People?s Champ says. Many Filipinos have tried it too, and they all echoed Pacquiao in saying, ?Wala ng aray!? as Alaxan FR contains two of the most widely used and trusted pain relievers worldwide?ibuprofen and paracetamol. Manny Pacquiao is as human as the rest of us, also feeling pain at times. But impressively, he has risen above it all and continues his fight. He embraces pain as a badge of honor and takes inspiration from the typical Filipino who goes on with work and life amidst the pain. That?s the mark of a true champion. # Click here to view a list of other articles written by Robbie Pangilinan. |
