Quotes From Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero's April 20 Open Media Workout in San Jose, Calif.

PhilBoxing.com

SAN JOSE, CA (April 21, 2010) - Former Three-Time World Champion in two weight divisions, Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero greeted media and fans yesterday at an open workout which took place at the San Jose Boxing and Fitness Gym. Guerrero battles Roberto Arrieta on Friday, April 30 in the first edition of the return of TeleFutura's "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" boxing series set to take place at Tropicana Las Vegas.

Here's what he had to say.

About his return to the ring:

"I'm excited to be fighting on TeleFutura's first show back. The "S?lo Boxeo Tecate" boxing series has been great for boxing fans. I can't wait to let my hands go and show the fans on TeleFutura and the Tropicana Las Vegas that I'm back and ready to fight the best in my division."

About training camp:

"It's been a good training camp. My sparring partners gave me good work. I saw some tape on Arrieta and we have a solid game plan for this fight. I know he's going to be gunning for me, but that's ok, because I'm ready to go."

About his wife's prognosis:

"Casey is coming along great. She's still undergoing some procedures, but she's right where she's supposed to be. I'm grateful and thank God everyday for her well being. Words can't describe how I feel knowing that she's doing better."

About his quest to bring awareness to those battling leukemia:

"I'm honored that "The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society" (LLS.org) nominated me as a candidate for their "Man of the Year" fundraising campaign. Today I met an awesome kid named Aiden Bowen, the "2010 Boy of the Year" who is a cancer survivor. He watched me workout and I showed him some boxing techniques. Knowing what he's gone through battling leukemia, is very inspiring. I encourage everyone to join me in my pursuit to help fund leukemia research."

Guerrero vs. Arrieta is presented by Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Cerveza Tecate. Doors at Tropicana Las Vegas open at 7:00pm, the first bell rings at 7:30pm and the TeleFutura broadcast begins live at 11:30 ET/PT (10:30 Central).

Tickets, priced at $100, $50, and $35, are on sale now at the Tropicana Box Office, and by calling702.739.3507. Tickets may also be purchased online at www.troplv.com.
