By Lito delos Reyes PhilBoxing.com Thu, 10 Apr 2025

FORMER IBF world champion Marlon “Nightmare” Tapales and ex-OPBF light flyweight title-holder Joey “The Babyface” Canoy will see action on April 27, Sunday at the Venue 88 in General Santos City.
“It’s gonna be a dinner with a boxing show,” said promoter Jim Claude “JC” Manangquil of Sanman Boxing Promotions.
Limited tables will be available for sale to watch the exciting fights.
“You can purchase tables for six people, which include a full course meal and drinks served while you enjoy a fantastic night of boxing,” said Manangquil.
Reserved seating is also available.
“The fights were originally set in Cambodia but we decided to hold it here,” said Manangquil.
The 32-year-old Tapales [39-4-0, 20KOs] will fight dangerous Jon Jon Jet [15-1-1, 12KOs] of Indonesia for the WBC International Silver Super bantamweight title.
Tapales recently beat Saurabh Kumar of India by a unanimous decision for the WBC Asian Continental super bantamweight title last September 7, 2024 at Olympic Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
The 31-year-old Canoy, [23-5-2, 14KOs], on the other hand, will also be facing Minh Phat “Leopard Kim” Sam [10-5-0, 8KOs] of Vietnam for WBC International minimumweight title in the undercard at 10-rounds.
