DAVAO CITY – World Boxing Organization Oriental bantamweight champion Vincent “Asero” Astrolabio of Gen. Santos City will fight Jerry Pabilla of Cotabato on Feb. 27 at the Bula Gym in Gen. Santos City.
The 23 year-old Astolabio (15W-3L-0D, 11KOs) did not have any fight last year but he had three successful fights in 2019.
First he won the vacant WBO Oriental bantamweight title by a TKO over Patrick Liukhoto of Indonesia last April 6 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
He then stopped Kevin Aseniero in the first title defense last Aug. 24 in Malate, Manila.
Astrolabio then knocked out Wilbert Berondo last Dec. 15 for his second title defense at the Robinson’s Mall Atrium in Gensan.
Pabilla (6W-4L-0D, 4KOs), on the other hand, lost to Michael Casama by a TKO last Feb. 29 at Lagao Gym in Gensan.
Astrolabio is still at the MP Boxing Gym in Davao City for a quarantine.
“Ok lang ako, 8 rounds ra amoa dulaan (I'm ok, we only play 8 rounds),” said Astrolabio.
Astrolabio and Pabilla will fight at an agreed weight of 120 lbs.
“Sa karon light training nalang mi (For now we are just light training),” said Astrolabio.
The bubble boxing event is promoted by Sen. Manny Pacquiao.
