SEBASTIAN "EL TRUENO" JUAREZ TRAINING CAMP NOTES

PhilBoxing.com

"I’m locked in, and I plan to show everyone why I’m the future of the middleweight division.” Sebastian Juarez

LAS VEGAS, NV (October 9, 2025) – Red-hot middleweight prospect, Sebastian Juarez (9-0, 7 KOs), promoted by Boxlab Promotions, returns home to fight in front of a supportive Texas crowd on October 18, 2025, at the South Padre Island Convention Center in South Padre Island, Texas. Juarez will face veteran Demarcus Layton (10-7-1, 7 KOs), of Little Rock, Arkansas, in a scheduled six-round bout, televised live on DAZN as part of Most Valuable Promotions’ “Most Valuable Prospects 16” event.

Juarez, who’s from nearby Brownsville, is coming into the fight with an unbeaten record and a lot of confidence. The 20-year-old has quickly established himself as one of the brightest young names in the middleweight division. Juarez has spent the past few weeks in Las Vegas, training under the watchful eye of highly respected boxing coach Bob Santos, whose experience guiding world champions has already made a strong impact on the rising prospect.

“Training in Las Vegas with Coach Bob has taken my game to the next level,” said Juarez. “The intensity, the attention to detail, and the high-level sparring have pushed me every single day. I’ve grown a lot during this camp, not just physically, but mentally.”

Santos, who has worked with numerous world-class fighters, has been fine-tuning Juarez’s timing, defense, and ring generalship in preparation for a dangerous and experienced opponent in Layton. “We’re not taking Layton lightly. He’s a veteran with real experience and carries power in both hands,” Juarez continued. “But we’ve done our homework. I plan to control the fight, dictate the pace, and bring the fight to him.”

Fighting just minutes from his hometown, Juarez knows the significance of this opportunity, not just for his career, but for the community that’s supported him since day one. “It means everything to fight this close to home,” Juarez added. “My friends, my family, my city—they’ve been behind me since the amateurs. Now they get to see me live on a big stage like DAZN. I’m going to give them something to be proud of.”

Juarez is laser-focused on extending his undefeated record while making a lasting impression on fans watching from around the world. “This is just the beginning,” Juarez concluded. “A win here sets me up for bigger fights and bigger moments. I’m locked in, and I plan to show everyone why I’m the future of the middleweight division.”

Amaury Piedra, President of Boxlab Promotions, conveyed his excitement about Juarez’s rapid ascent in the middleweight ranks and the opportunity to showcase him near his hometown. “Sebastian Juarez is on the rise for a reason,” said Piedra. “He’s got the full package—skills, discipline, charisma, and a real connection to his community. Training under a coach like Bob Santos has only elevated his game, and we believe this fight will show fans everywhere that Sebastian is ready for the next level. The support he’ll have in South Padre Island is going to be electric.”
