JARON ‘BOOTS’ ENNIS AND UISMA LIMA PRESS CONFERENCE QUOTES PhilBoxing.com Fri, 10 Oct 2025 ![]() Jaron Ennis has promised his fans a spectacular performance as he makes his hotly-anticipated debut at 154lbs on Saturday night against Uisma Lima at Xfinity Mobile Arena, live worldwide on DAZN. Ennis fights at Super-Welterweight for the first time after unifying the Welterweight division in his last outing in April, and the Philadelphia star can take a big step towards becoming a two-weight World ruler with the WBAS Interim strap on the line. Lima has plans to spoil the party though, and the Portuguese-Angolan is no stranger to winning in hostile territory, and is looking to rip up the script and announce himself on the big stage in his American debut. Eddie Hearn, Matchroom Sport Chairman: “What a night we have on Saturday, live on the global home of Boxing, DAZN. We have a marathon night for us fight fans, as prime time in the UK, British Heavyweight favorite Dave Allen against takes only Arslanbek Makhmudov in massive night of action in Sheffield, with a stacked undercard in front of a huge Yorkshire crowd. “And then we come stateside, here in Philadelphia for, in my opinion, the launch of the 154lb journey of the future pound-for-pound number one at the sport, Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis in Philadelphia. It's an incredible fight card. “And with this new structure, the press conference allows us to see just that a brilliant 50-50 Heavyweight matchup between Alexis Barriere and Guido Vianello. There’s some great young talent with Zaquin Moses, Hardy Mederos and Giorgio Visioli, and of course, Thamir Smalls against Jose Ramon another one of Boots’ big prospects as well, with Dennis Thompson stepping up against Sean Diaz. This is a mouthwatering night of boxing in Philadelphia.” Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis “I'm glad that he thinks he's confident. I like it, I like the confidence. But he talks too much. You know, he going to get exactly what he is looking for, and that’s an early night. I'm gonna have some fun and I'm going to show up. I'm not here to play games. I know what he is going to bring to the table. “He definitely a good fighter for sure, I’ve watched him and I like what I see. But there’s levels though He’s fighting those guys over there, they don't have my skill to go with my my power and my ability. I'm on a whole different level. When when he actually gets in there with me on Saturday night, he going to be like, ‘yo, he is a lot faster than I thought, stronger than I thought, slicker’. There are levels, and he knows that, so we’re going to see. Make sure y'all come out Saturday night, you are going to see a spectacular knockout. I win this fight; however, I want to do it. I'm not here to play. I'm coming. “This road warrior thing he’s got going on, he’s about to fight in front of my fans in Philly, it’s a whole different energy and vibe. I’m glad he’s accepted the fight, and appreciate you for it, but you’ll see me on Saturday night and you all know my slogan, we’re in and out like a robbery.” Uisma Lima “Thank you to Matchroom for this fight of my life. We train for this moment, these events, and we have put in the camp of our lives for this fight. I'm in the best shape of my life. I'm ready for this fight. I come into this fight with zero fear. “They know I can beat him. I know he’s an elite fighter, but I am too. I have everything I need; ring IQ, footwork, I am fast, I have strength, I have an offense, and I am best shape of my life, I can do everything he can do.” ![]() |
