RED OWL BOXING: BOXFEST XVI – OFFICIAL WEIGH-IN RESULTS PhilBoxing.com Fri, 10 Oct 2025  COMMERCE CASINO (OCTOBER 10, 2025) DAZN BROADCAST – 11:00 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. PT LOS ANGELES (Oct. 9, 2025) – Red Owl Boxing ‘s Boxfest XVI is set to deliver a night of high-stakes action and defining moments at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles tomorrow, Friday, October 10, following today’s official weigh-ins. The action-packed card will stream live worldwide on DAZN. Red Owl Boxing’s debut show in California will feature an explosive main event as Deonte “Lay Em Down” Brown (16-0, 11 KOs) of Morgan City, Louisiana, takes on Grimardi Machuca (17-2, 14 KOs) of Camden, New Jersey, for the WBA Continental Americas Super Featherweight Title. A highly anticipated tilt between two knockout artists, Boxfest XVI’s main event promises to deliver an electric showdown in the heart of Southern California. Also featured is a long-awaited rematch between Saul “The Beast” Sanchez (21-4, 12 KOs) and Edwin Rodriguez (12-9-2, 5 KOs). Known for his aggressive style and fan-friendly fights, Sanchez has built a reputation as one of Southern California’s most exciting bantamweights and is eager to make a statement in his comeback after nearly a year out of the ring. Standing in his way is Rodriguez, a 13-year veteran who has faced a deep roster of tough opposition throughout his career. Rodriguez enters the bout hungry to pull off an upset and derail Sanchez’s path back toward title contention in their scheduled eight-round bantamweight clash. In addition, 2020 U.S. Olympian Shakilya Ellis (formerly known as Rashida) will make her professional debut when she faces seasoned veteran Maria “Polvorita” Salinas (27-12-6, 7 KOs) in a six-round featherweight contest. In a homecoming bout of sorts, Anaheim’s Jessie Mandapat (9-2-1, 5 KOs) searches for a career defining victory as he squares off against Pennsylvania’s Cornellio Phipps (5-0, 2 KOs).
