AUGUST 5: BOXING BACK IN DANAO CITY, CEBU

PhilBoxing.com

Boxing is back in Danao City, Cebu. The boxing date is August 5 @ Sabang Gym for an evening of exciting professional and amateur fights.

The headliner in the Flyweight division will feature Leyte?o southpaw Cris Ganoza (12-1, 6 KO's) trading power blows against dangerous Garry Rojo of Bohol.

Ganoza is back in Cebu after losing in a bad knock out last March in Manila, while Rojo comes from knocking out his last two foes in Bohol.

These are two 22-year-old hungry-for-glory warriors. One coming from losing by KO, the other coming from winning by KO. Who will prevail? Will it be by KO?

In the co-main, 21-year-old Dennis Guibao, born in Baybay, Leyte, climbs the ring for the first time as a pro fighter to battle Welberto Rota of Compostela. The clash promises to be a non-stop, action-packed 4-rounder.

Ganoza and Guibao are prepared by experienced coach Christopher "PingPing" Tepora, head coach of Big Yellow Boxing Gym.

EXCITING SUPPORTING BOUTS!

The main supporting bout features veteran 147-pounders. Southpaw Rey "Malone" Labao is back in the ring after a one-year hiatus to battle more active orthodox Jhun Ryan Quimbo, 27, of Compostela.

Malone Labao of of the SGG Stable and we'll see an orthodox vs a southpaw. Careful with clash of heads. Lets hope there will not be.

Moreover, hard-hitting Gensan Ken Jordan (4-1-1, 4 KO's) of the AM7 Stable Bantayan Island squares off tough bantamweight Anthony Galigao (5-9, 2 KO's) of Batuan, Bohol Province.

Galigao, 26, hasn't fought since he won in Maasin last August, but is now back in the ring, aiming at scoring a win.

The first pro bout of the evening will be the Minimumweight rumble of debutant April Jay Abne of Peping Co Stable trading boxing skills against Roman Getalada of Compostela.

Getalada hasn't scored a win in his prior two combats, losing by points in his last outing in Masbate. That's why Getalada now targets the rookie April Jay to be his first scalped.

Getalada will scalp the newcomer April Jay ... or will it be the other way around?

The card will also feature five electrifying amateur fights, nobody knowing if the future Filipino big boxing star will be competing there.

Amateur Boxing Clubs interested in taking part in this card may contact matchmaker Christopher "Pingping" Tepora.

Boxing Fans in Cebu, remember the date and place: August 5, 2017 @ Sabang Gym in Danao City, Cebu, and PhilBoxing.com will be there.

The "Bakbakan Sa Sabang" card is the production of new Cebu boxing outfit Big Yellow Card of 37-year-old promoter Seth Tio in association with matchmaker head coach Christopher "PingPing" Tepora.
