WASHINGTON -- The Washington Wizards blew a close Game 4 contest wide open with a 26-0 third quarter run that eventually led to a 121-102 drubbing of the Boston Celtics at the Verizon Center, tying the Eastern Conference semifinals at 2-2.
The Celtics, who will host Game 5 on Tuesday night (Wednesday AM in Manila), took a 53-48 lead with 11:10 remaining in the third quarter. But they didn't score for six minutes and 10 seconds as the Wizards scored 26 unanswered, including 12 on fastbreaks.
Bradley Beal had a game-high 29 points for Washington, shooting 11 of 16 form the field. John Wall came up with 27 including 12 assists that fueled their offense. Otto Porter Jr finished with 18 and rebounds while Markieff Morris added 16 and 10 boards.
With their explosive offense and Wall's direction, Washington connected on 44 of 84 shots and 9 of 21 triples. The Wiz also swished 24 of 27 free throws.
The Celtics got 19 from Isaiah Thomas and 16 from Terry Rozier. Kelly Olynyk chipped in 14 but Boston couldn't find any traction in offense, shooting just 44.3 percent from the field. They did hit 14 of 31 threes, but the Celtics were out-rebounded, 45-31.
