CHARLIE EDWARDS KILLING HIMSELF IN TRAINING FOR CASIMERO TITLE FIGHT
By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Mon, 29 Aug 2016

While Britain?s Charlie Edwards may have had only eight fights as a pro and remains unbeaten with 3 knockouts to his name, he is killing himself in the gym and in his relentless strength and conditioning regimen and looks really ripped and ready for his International Boxing Federation flyweight battle with Filipino champion Johnreil Casimero at the O2 Arena in London on September 10.
Edwards admits he ?took a big chance in my 9th fight? but stressed that while Casimero ?can punch? he (Edwards) is ?going to be nasty, horrible and awkward and when my feet start moving after 6 rounds and it kicks in? things could change.
After watching tapes of Casimero?s last fight in which he knocked out Thailand?s Amnat Ruenroeng in four rounds in a rematch which was the highlight of the IBF Convention in Beijing, China, Edwards noted that Casimero was "a little slow on his feet."
Casimero?s promoter Sammy Gello-ani told The Standard that while Johnreil appears overconfident he has trained hard for this title defense and there is no reason for Filipino fight fans to be worried.
He expressed confidence that Casimero who has a record of 22-3 with 14 knockouts will return home with his IBF championship belt.
