MANANQUIL AND MANIATIS CRY FOUL OVER PETALCORIN LOSS
By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Fri, 15 Apr 2016

Randy Petalcorin lost via split decision against Omar Kimweri, a Tanzanian based in Australia, in a WBC Silver flyweight title bout held today at the Melbourne Pavilion in Australia.
Petalcorin?s co-managers, Jim Claude Manangquil of Sanman Promotions of Gen.Santos City and Peter Maniatis of Australia are up in arms about the decision.
Manangquil e-mailed philboxing his account and statement about the fight:
?Randy knocked down Kimweri 4 times. The ref didn?t even bother to count. Very disgraceful this is horrible for the sport. Randy is discouraged and is very upset.I hope someone does something to correct this because its killing the sport and the boxers. The referee (Malcolm Bulner) was clearly biased. His wife was also a judge (Samantha Bulner) who gave it to Kimweri. Everybody can see the replay and watch all of those knockdowns. Clearly bad officiating from the judges and referee.?
In a joint statement, from Manangquil and co-manager Peter Maniatis, ?We?re both shocked and disgusted about the decision. Horrible for boxing. We will protest about this.?
This was Petalcorin?s first bout since stopping Ma Yi Ming in one round in Beijing last April 24, 2015. Petalcorin was defending his WBA Interim world light flyweight title in that fight.
A short video posted on social media tonight clearly shows the knockdowns that were either ruled a slip or were not ruled as knockdowns.
