NBA -- Bulls collapse late, fall prey to Wolves
By Homer D. Sayson PhilBoxing.com Mon, 08 Feb 2016

CHICAGO -- After Derrick Rose swished a pair of free throws that shoved his team up, 105-100 with 2:55 left to play, the Chicago Bulls found themselves in an excellent position to steal one precious win in their ongoing 7-game road trip.
But the Bulls, in a common narrative that has shadowed their frustrating season, crumbled late and watched the Minnesota Timberwolves go on a 12-0 tear to escape with a 112-105 victory on Saturday night at the Target Center.
Andrew Wiggins fueled the Wolves' late charge by scoring six of his 21 points in the final 2:55. But it was prized rookie Karl Anthony-Towns who led Minnesota with 26 points and 17 boards while Gorgui Dieng added workmanlike 24 points and 13 rebounds.
The Wolves sank just 1-of-12 from long distance but they ended up shooting 45 of 87 from the field overall. Ricky Rubio had 14 points and six assists and Zach LaVine pitched in 13.
Pau Gasol paced the Bulls with 25 points and eight boards and Derrick Rose settled with 18 and 10 helpers. E'Twaun Moore, who started in place of the injured Jimmy Butler (knee strain) finished with 17 and 7 seven dimes.
The Bulls couldn't capitalize on an 8-1 edge on 3-point shooting and fell 2-4 on their current road trip. Their overall record also fell to 27-23 sixth place in the Eastern Conference.
