KATSIDIS PLANS MOST FEROCIOUS ATTACK EVER MADE

PhilBoxing.com

The manager and trainer of unbeaten WBO interim lightweight champion Michael Katsidis, who is now training at an undisclosed facility in Los Angeles, has said that Filipino Czar Amonsot will witness 'one of the most ferocious attacks ever made in a boxing ring,' when they clash on July 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

The bout will serve as one of the chief supports to the huge Bernard Hopkins-Winky Wright battle dubbed 'Coming to Fight.'

Brendon Smith, who trains and manages Katsidis, informed this writer in an exclusive interview that they are having a quite training camp in Los Angeles where they have been based for some time now.

"I can't give you much detail on where, who, or what he is doing, as last time we were here we were working open and i believe this played a big factor in the cancellation of his last fight," said Smith, apparently referring to the cancelled bout with Joan Guzman last May 26. Guzman had claimed he injured himself while training, and the fight had to be shelved.

"All I can tell you is Katsidis The Great will enter the coliseum at Mandalay Bay on July 21 and you will see not only the fear in his opponent's eyes but the hair will be standing up on the back of every ones neck in the arena as he makes his entrance and then they will witness one of the most ferocious attacks ever made in a boxing ring," warned Smith, adding that by the time Katsidis leaves, "he will be the most talked about warrior in the world, he will be remembered by those who he fights!"

While Katsidis and his trainer have opted to keep their training venue behind closed doors, Amonsot, who will be fighting the biggest fight of his life, has continued his training at Freddie Roach's Wild Card Gym also in Los Angeles.

The ALA Boy Amonsot had to forego a July 7 defense of his WBO Asia Pacific title for the chance to challenge the Australian world champion Katsidis.

Aside from the Katsidis-Amonsot bout, also slated on the card is the WBC featherweight interim showdown featuring Oscar Larios against Japan-based Venezuelan Jorge Linares.
