RACHMAN-CONDES TITLE FIGHT IS A GO By Ronnie Nathanielsz PhilBoxing.com Fri, 22 Jun 2007 After initial concerns over whether or not the IBF minimum weight title fight between Indonesia’s Muhammad Rachman and mandatory challenger Florante Condes of the Philippines will push through because of confusion regarding the promotion in Jakarta, latest word is the fight is a go. The Philippine champion’s manager, former boxer Aljoe Jaro told Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today that "everything has been settled" and that he had already received the money due for the airline tickets of the Condes contingent as reimbursement since he had already advanced the money to buy the tickets. Viva Sports/Manila Standard Today had earlier informed IBF official Lindsey Tucker that Aljoe Jaro had advanced the money to buy the plane tickets and that Condes hadn’t received any training expenses. Tucker acted on it immediately and then informed us that while the official promoter was Warriors Boxing since they won the purse bid his "understanding" was that Indonesian promoters Fandy Sugiarto and Tuorino Tidar were handling the travel and hotel accommodations which turned out to be correct. Tucker also disclosed that he had "been in touch with both" and said they had made travel arrangements for the fight supervisor, the referee and the judge from the Philippines. Tucker added "I would be very disappointed if they have not contacted Mr. Aljoe Jaro." In addition Tucker said he had spoken to Condes’ promoter Bobby Bostick and his USA co-manager Dante Ortiz and "they both have stated they have their airline tickets" but added he didn’t know whether they purchased the tickets themselves. The IBF official pointed out that "this was a purse bid and the winning bidder is not responsible for providing transportation for everyone associated with a fighter."
