RACHMAN-CONDES PROMOTER STILL MISSING!
PhilBoxing.com Sat, 16 Jun 2007
 Muhammad Rachman.
Albert Papilaya, the original promoter of the July 7 IBF title showdown between Muhammad Rachman and Florante Condes, remains missing and could not be reached through his numbers when mediamen tried to get his side of the story.
Papilaya, who is now christened 'Mr Tom' by the Indonesian press due to his proclivity to promise things will be done by 'tomorrow,' had promised to pay large sum of money to reigning champion Rachman but only kept promising only to fail in delivering what had been agreed upon.
According to Indo Pos, a newspaper based in Jakarta, Papilaya has remained out of reach every time mediamen would try to call him on his mobile phone.
The promotional reins have now been handled by Ndondo Sugiarto and Tourino Tidar after the IBF issued an ultimatum that should a fight not take place on or before July 10, Rachman would be stripped of the title.
Indonesia's sports ministry has since stepped into the mess, and designated Sugiarto and Tidar as new promoters while at the same time asking for a July 7 postponement.
Papilaya first gained notoriety when he promoted the recent WBA featherweight clash between Chris John and Jose Rojas, failing to deliver both fighters' purses on the day of the weigh-in, which is the standard practice, and on fight day itself.
Instead, Papilaya only paid the money a week after the bout, and Rojas had already gone back to his country Venezuela.
