TMZ -- Oscar De La Hoya has some serious financial advice for his up and coming fighters ... don't blow $5 MILLION on a fancy car -- go electric.
By the way, Oscar was leaving Katsuya in Hollywood with boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez -- who's prepping for his fight with Miguel Cotto in Nov.
Alvarez can reportedly make up to $6.5 million for the fight ... so maybe spring for a Tesla?
