NBA -- Mavericks sign McGee to 2-year deal

VANCOUVER -- In the ongoing quest to shore up their low-post presence, the Dallas Mavericks signed center JaVale McGee to a two-year minimum deal.
After DeAndre Jordan reneged on his commitment to join the Mavs last month, opting instead to return to the Clippers, Dallas has since signed 6-foot-11 Samuel Dalember, 6-foot-11 ZaZa Pachulia and 7-foot-2 Tunisian Salah Mijri.
The 7-foot, 270-pound McGee was the 18th pick (Round 1) in the 2008 NBA draft. He has played for the Washington Wizards, Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers. But after undergoing surgery to repair a stress fracture in his left tibia in 2013, McGee has appeared in only 28 games the past two season, ESPN reports.
McGee has appeared in 382 regular season games where he has averaged 8.4 points and 5.5 rebounds an outing.
