RPN TO AIR SOTO-BOBBY PACQUIAO CLASH!
PhilBoxing.com Fri, 08 Jun 2007
According to GMA News, Filipino fight fans will be in for another explosive weekend as the colossal boxing spectacle dubbed as "X-Plosive" headlined by the welterweight title clash of undefeated champ Miguel Cotto and former two-division kingpin Zab Judah will be aired by RPN9 in cooperation with Solar Sports.
RPN9 will be airing the fight on a slightly delayed basis beginning from 10AM-1PM on Sunday, Solar Sports said in a statement Thursday night.
The undercards of the event slated at the Madison Square Garden will be top billed by top rated super featherweights Bobby Pacquiao and Humberto Soto.
Pacquiao (27-12-3, 12KOs) knocked out former world champion and New York fan-favorite Kevin Kelley at The Garden last year.
"If there's one thing my brother Manny (Pacquiao) and I enjoy, it is fighting the best from Mexico ," said Pacquiao. "Soto has something I want – his world rating.
Pacquiao is rated No. 6 by the World Boxing Council while Soto is rated No. 3.
"Soto is the only thing standing between me and a world title shot and I am doing everything to get him (Sotto) of the way."
Soto (41-5-2, 25 KOs), from Los Mochis, Mexico, is riding a five-year, 19-bout unbeaten streak, including a 12-round unanimous decision against previously undefeated Rocky Juarez for the WBC interim featherweight title.
"I think Soto will win three world titles and become the most popular champion in all of Mexico ," said manager Nacho Huizar, who handles Soto. "That's how strong Soto is."
Cable replay will be on Solar Sports the following Tuesday from 7-9PM and Wednesday from 10AM-12NN.
