Lucas takes on Van Dieman

PhilBoxing.com

Xavier Lucas.
MMA star Xavier ?X Man? Lucas will step back into the boxing ring this Friday night to take on knock out artist Jeremy Van Diemen (4-0, 3 KO?s) in the Co-Main Event of Thunderdome at Metro City in Perth, Australia.

Lucas represented Team Australia in the recent UFC Ultimate Fighter series ?The Smashes: Australia vs UK? where he made it to the semi-finals before losing to eventual winner Robert Whittaker.

The ?X-Man? is confident for this fight with Van Dieman and says he has been working on a good game plan with trainer Grady Stewart.

?It's gonna be the Angel taming the Demon,? Lucas said.

?Van Dieman is a good come forward fighter, we have done the work now it's time to put it to play.?

"I feel great and confident for this fight. It will be MMA fighter versus boxer. But let us not forget that I started Boxing before I began MMA, I can't wait to entertain Perth,? Lucas said.

Grady Stewart says Lucas is going to beat Van Dieman at him own game. ?X-Man is going to go up the middle, put him against the ropes and make him go back which is something he is not used to,? Stewart said.

Van Dieman is confident he is going to put Lucas on the back foot and keep him up against the ropes.

?I am very happy to be on this card with boxing returning to Perth Metro City for the first time in many years and I plan to knock out Lucas on Friday night,? Van Dieman said.

Also on the Dragon Fire Thunderdome card is Luke Sharp vs Jeremy Allan for the WA State Middleweight Title, Matt Garlett vs Weng Heya, John Squillace vs Rob Powerdrill and the return of ?Cool? Willie Kickett as he faces Manopnoi Singmanasak.

This Friday night will be the first boxing event at Perth Metro City since June 2003.

Tickets to Thunderdome are available at http://metrocity.oztix.com.au/?Event=33606
