PACQUIAO ATTENDS MASS BEFORE FACING BRADLEY By Rich Mazon PhilBoxing.com Sun, 10 Jun 2012 Las Vegas, NV ? Manny Pacquiao attended a Eucharistic Mass with his family, team, friends and supporters this Saturday morning at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The mass officiated by Reverend Marlon Beof who has been officiating these masses for years dating back to the boxer?s early years in the sport. The Filipino champ has been doing this traditional religious practice on all of his fights. The Pacquiao?s were joined by hundreds of supporters who prayed over them with Father Marlon in the lead. His belts, outfit and shoes were blessed during the offertory part of the mass. Pacquiao and wife Jinkee led the offering procession with members of his team following him. The boxer also led a prayer himself as he asked for protection for him and his opponent and all of the boxers involved in tonight?s card. ?Iligtas mo po kami sa kapahamakan.? (Protect us from all harm.) We give you thanks and praise for all the blessings and love that you have given to us.? Pacquiao prayed. Pacquiao and his trainers, Freddie Roach, Buboy Fernandez and Alex Ariza with Filipino boxer Ernie Sanchez who will be fighting in the undercard were called to the front by Fr. Marlon and was blessed and prayed by him with the crowd joining him on raised hands. Pacquiao?s eldest daughter Princess said a prayer at the end of the mass to ask for blessings for his famous dad. "Thank you Lord that you bless us and I hope that he (Pacquiao) will win this fight,? she pleaded. She also recited a few verses of the bible which drew cheers from the crowd. Pacquiao?s youngest daughter Queenie sang a short hymn after her sister said her prayers and was equally applauded as well. The mass ended before noon and Pacquiao went straight to his suite to rest and prepare for tonight?s fight.
