MEET AND GREET "THE QUICK BROWN FOX" THIS MONDAY AT THE STAPLES CENTER

PhilBoxing.com

Fans of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), of Philippine basketball and of basketball in general will have a chance to meet one of the legends of Philippine basketball this Monday . Ricardo "Ricky" Brown aka "The Quick Brown Fox" will have a Meet and Greet event at The Staples Center on March 26, 2012 just before the Los Angeles Clippers battle the Charlotte Hornets.

The event is one of the activities that the Clippers had to reach out to their Filipino fans in the Golden State. They celebrated Filipino Heritage Night last March 14, 2012 when they faced the Atlanta Hawks. The team offered discounted tickets, commemorative shirts and performances by Filipino artists during that night. This is their second offering of the said event.

Ricardo Brown played for the Philippine team (Northern Cement) that won the 1980 Jones Cup under Coach Ron Jacobs. He turned pro in 1983 (PBA) after that and played suited for Great Taste Coffee makers and the San Miguel Beermen. He has the distinction of being the first Filipino - American to have played in the PBA. He won "Rookie of The Year" honors that year and was also the league's MVP in 1985. Prior to that, Brown was drafted in the National Basketball Association by the Houston Rockets and played college basketball at Pepperdine University.

"I am so excited to see the great fans of Philippine basketball in this great event." said Brown. "I am not getting paid for this event,. It is just an opportunity for me to meet and reconnect with the great fans from the Philippines." he added. An opportunity he grabbed because Brown thinks this will give him a chance to see his fans , his supporters and fans of Philippine basketball who lives in California. "That's all this is about." he sincerely explained.

The likeable former basketball great has now found his calling in education. He is now the principal of Ross Academy Middle School in the ABC United School District in Los Angeles County. He also is very much involved in it's athletic programs as well, proving that the athlete in him lives as always.

So, if you're free this Monday night, come to The Staples Center and watch Blake Griffin, Chris Paul and company take the New Orleans Hornets. But before you do that , please come and reconnect with one of the legends of Philippine basketball in the same night at the same building. Tickets for the event can be purchased through this link.
