Farm in Boac, Marinduque on Sunday. Lorenzo of the Laguna Heroes that’s currently vying in the Professional Chess Association of the Philippines (PCAP) finished the Single Round Robin, 1 hour + 30 seconds increment time control format with a near perfect 8.5 points on account of eight wins and 1 draw. Lorenzo pocketed the top purse of P10,000 for his stellar performance in the tournament organized by Boac Knight Chess Club, Inc. headed by it's president Engr. Lauro Bautista and supported by Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco, RMB Paraiso Enterprises, Inc. Farm, Bahay sa Kanto Cafe and Giovanni Buhain of Green Metro Builders Dev't, Inc. Jeremy Marticio of Cabuyao City, Laguna finished second with 6.5 points while 2022 National Age-Group Chess Grand Finalist (U-16) Rey Julius Taguba of Cabuyao City, Laguna rounded off the top three with 6.0 points. Marticio went home with P7,000 while Taguba received P5,000 for their performances. During the tournament, Lorenzo went on winning from rounds one, three to nine against Richard Pelaez, Jersey Marticio, Jeremy Marticio, Christian Nanola, Rey Julius Taguba, John Albert Lacdao, Ronelo Embing and John Christopher Corcuera, respectively. He split the points with Robert Neil Mataac in the second round. Tournament Director was Engr. Lauro Bautista.
