HBO DOESN'T LIKE RIGONDEAUX, BUT THEY LIKE ZOU SHIMING? By Anthony 'Duljoman' Andales PhilBoxing.com Tue, 22 Jul 2014 Mt. Pleasant, SC ? HBO has its favorites, but unfortunately the 2-time Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux is not one of them, this is what Gary Hyde said, Rigondeaux?s manager. To the purists, this is insane. Guillermo Rigondeaux is one of the very elite boxers in the history of boxing who came from the winningest bloodlines in the Olympics, the Cuban bloodline. He is a one of the few that won at least 2 Olympics gold medals from Cuba (Mario Kindelan, Ariel Hernandez, Angel Herrera Vera, Felix Savon, and Teofilo Stevenson) but unlike of those mentioned, Rigondeaux is the only 2-time gold medalist turned pro. On his 7th fight he became Interim WBA Super Bantam champion. After 4 successful defenses he unified WBA/WBO belt by outclassing former WBO Super Bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire Jr. Of all those accomplishments, of all those greatness, after showing us how he schooled Donaire Jr., HBO tagged him as boring. Now I asked this, is Zou Shiming more entertaining? Is that what HBO trying to say here? I tell you about Zou Shiming, he is a 2-time Olympics gold medal too. Each of those 2008 & 2012 golds were energetically booed. Not clean at all, There were excessive holding and tackling too. Each gold he won came in with controversy. If you closely watch Zou Shiming?s pro bouts, he doesn?t have the talent like Rigondeaux, not even close. We cannot even put their names together in terms of class and boxing comprehension. The only positive going for Zou Shiming is he has Roach in his corner. However this past Saturday, Zou Shiming was on HBO main event while Rigondeaux was relegated to a second class TV channel Unimas. Explain that? Last Saturday was Rigondeaux?s last fight for Bob Arum?s Top Rank, and we might not see him on HBO anymore. Top Rank and HBO, these outfits value more mediocrity, but hardly recognize a true genius in boxing. Oh! BeerTime!! "I?m coming home," Lebron James' low key decision to go back to his roots shows you who truly LBJ is. He is a true champion, he swallowed his pride and went back to where he really belong and hoping he can give something his own people had been deprived of a Larry O? Brien? I didn?t know this but those LBJ lieutenants Rich Paul and Maverick Carter didn?t really moved out to Miami, FL these guys stayed in Cleveland the entire time since that infamous decision in 2010? LeBron only listened to his Mom, his lovely wife Savannah and these 2 childhood friends Rich Paul and Maverick Carter? Kudos to LeBron, best of luck!!!... Wiggins or Love for LBJ?, it doesn?t matter to me? Love the king of Fantsasy Basketball is like a Ben Wallace who can shoot 3s and still grab those 13 rpg, (the DOUBLE-DOUBLE machine) less block shots though? while if you have Wiggins, a 19 year old and a potential Scottie Pippen defense to be, with more upside in offense? the young man understands how to play perimeter defense? can you imagine a James and Wiggins defense on your perimeter?... I?ve never seen these kind of combination in perimeter defense since Jordan/Pippen tandem?
