MARK “Rasta Mac” Vicelles of Sultan Kudarat will fight Kosuke Tomioka of Japan on September 7 at the Grandship in Shizuoka, Japan.
The 29-year-old Vicelles, who is now based in Fuji, Shizuoka, is being trained by Filipino Jon Yano, who is assisted by two Japanese trainers.
Vicelles said that they have a game plan with the Suruga Danji Boxing team.
“We will do everything so that I can win this fight,” said Vicelles [20-1-1, 11KOs].
Vicelles said that his Japanese foe is a good fighter.
“He's fast and strong, so I don't underestimate him,” said Vicelles, who has staked the ranking of this fight.
Vicelles is rated no. 7 by the WBO, no. 9 by IBF and no. 15 by WBC.
He had a sparring of 10 rounds with Ohashi boxers and with WBO World champion Yoshiki Takei.
Vicelles recently beat Xiang Li of China by a unanimous decision last May 18 in Fujisan Messe, Fuji.
Vicelles' manager is Hidenoki Hayashi while the promoter is Masaaki Maejima.
Tomioka [9-4-0, 7KOs], on the other hand, stopped Yoshiki Minato by a technical decision in the 7th round last March 11 at the Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
