Julaton victorious against Hernandez in Mexico
By Rich Mazon PhilBoxing.com Sat, 02 Nov 2013

Ana ?The Hurricane? Julaton overcame a nasty cut and a bigger and taller opponent to score a hard fought Majority Decision victory against Perla Hernandez of Mexico.
Julaton, 33, garnered scores of 97-93, 98-94 and 95-95 on the three judges at ringside to grab the thirteenth win of her career (13-4-1, 2 KOs) at Progreso, in the Yucatan state of Mexico Friday night.
The Filipina-American former champion was busy all night, firing jabs and body shots against Hernandez (10-7-3, 2 KOs) who tried to use her height and weight to her advantage.
Julaton suffered a cut in her right eye in the 6th, a product of a head clash between the two fighters, but her corner managed it well between rounds for her to be able to continue in their scheduled 10 round bout.
Hernandez gamely engaged Julaton in various stages of the bout, catching the Filipina-American with combinations in the head that stopped Julaton?s aggression and attacks.
?I am so delighted to see Ana return to form and deliver a crucial victory in a crossroads fight. This allows me to resume her advance in the world stage,? Julaton?s promoter and advisor, Allan Tremblay said after the fight.
Her trainer, Angelo Reyes, was satisfied with his ward?s performance and stated that ?Ana won the fight clearly in our eyes.?
He credited the time that Julaton spent at the Mayweather Gym in Las Vegas and the strength and conditioning program that she underwent during training as a factor in Julaton?s triumphant night.
