RWS Gym Boxers to fight for Regional Belts in Thailand

PhilBoxing.com

CEBU - Romnick Magos and Fernando Ocon of the Rex ?Wakee? Salud (RWS) gym of Labangon, Cebu City are scheduled to fight in Thailand this month for regional titles. Magos (7W-1L, 3 KO's) will face Thai Rusalee Samor (17W-3L-1D, 8 KO's) for the IBF Pan Pacific flyweight title on August 17. The 21 year old Magos has won four straight bouts since suffering his only career loss to Virgilio Silvano last year. Magos' last fight was a ten round unanimous decision win over Roemart Sentillas in Lapu-lapu City last February.

The 28 year old Samor won the Pan Pacific title last year by beating Filipino Ryan Tampus by unanimous decision in Bangkok. He has defended his title twice against Geboi Mansalayao of the Philippines and Johan Wahyudi of Thailand. Magos will be fighting abroad for the first time.

Ocon (10W-1L, 2 KO's) will be fighting for the WBO Oriental flyweight title against another Thai, Kwanpichit 13 Rien Express on August 24. The 30 year old Kwanpichit is the undefeated defending champion with a record of 16 wins, 6 by knockout. He won the Oriental title by beating Noel Adelmita of Bohol by 5th round knockout last March in Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand.

Ocon's last bout was a 9th round TKO win over Aroel Romasasa last March in San Fernando for the PBF flyweight title. The 21 year old Ocon will be fighting abroad also for the first time.
Trainer Juanito Ablaca will be accompanying Magos while with his assistant trainer Eper Tepora will assist Ocon during their respective fights. Eper is the brother of Pingping Tepora, the trainer IBF lt.flyweight world champion Johnriel Casimero.

?We will give them a hard night if it goes to distance, I will not expect to win in a foreign land. But if they give it to us then it will be a great thing for us? Ablaca said.
