Pinoy Pride 7: Lapu-lapu City Public Sparring and Amateur bouts

Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu - The recognized stars and up and coming prospects of the ALA Gym of Cebu had a public sparring session Saturday evening at the Lapu-lapu City covered court to promote the PINOY PRIDE VII fight card. Eight pairs of fighters sparred for two rounds each. AJ ?Bazooka? Banal?s torrid session with Jocel Gestopa was the highlight of the evening.

The fans who witnesses the event also got to win free tickets for the July 30 card which will be held at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-lapu City. Ring announcer John Magat of Y101 FM served as master of ceremonies.



Fans also got to see Michael Domingo spar with Arjan Canillas, WBO Oriental featherweight titlist Lorenzo ?Thunderbolt? Villanueva vs Mark Acub, PABA superbantamweight titlist Larry ?Bon Jovi? Canillas vs Genesis Servania, Albert Pagara vs Marjun Yap, Mark Bernaldez vs Boyce Sultan, Welbeth Loberanis vs Ryan Canillas, and the flashy and funny Jun Intor spar with Crispin Parba.







Pinoy Pride 7 will be headlined by Banal defending his WBO Asia-Pacific title against Tyson Cave of Canada. Domigo will fight Richard Samosir of Indonesia while Villanueva will face another Indonesian, Eddy Camaro. Eusebio Baluarte and Romeo Jakosalem will fight for the Phil. Jr. welterweight title.

There were also twelve pairs of amateur bouts which were part of the continuing ALA-Summit Natural Drinking Water Fight Night Amateur Series. Most of these boxers are in their early to mid-teens.

In the 60 kg division, Jing Aguan of Tagbilaran City beat Eleno Traya of Consolacion, Cebu 3-0, Julius Castor of Leyte won by RSC in only 12 seconds against Roldan Antero of the Phil-Aust Gym (58 kg).



JP Atieda of Bacolod City beat Mardy Muana of Camotes Island 3-0 (57 kg), Wendel Acharon of the University of the Visayas won on points 3-0 against Jonathan Francisco of Consolacion (50 kg), Kevin Jake Cataraja of Talamban National High School won 2-1 against Christian Bacolod of Mabolo Natl. High School (50kg).

Richard Barrios of Bais City beat Ritchie Montealto of Consolacion 3-0 (50kg), Jimboy Mayang of Lapu-lapu City won on points 3-0 against Lemar Baral of Camotes island (50kg), Raul Yu of Camotes beat Jicky Palupay of Mandaue City 2-1 (50kg), Rogaciano Lebres of Lapu-lapu City won 3-0 over Rimson Belarde of Mandaue City (48 kg).

Bebe Rama of Phil-Aust Gym won 2-1 over Gabriel Besinga of Banilad Elem. School (30kg), Raul Tarona of the Phil-aust Gym beat Vicente Seos-e,Jr of Cabancalan Elem. School 3-0 (29kg) and Raymund Esgana of the Phil-Aust Gym won 3-0 over John Paul Tanodra of Mabolo Elem. School (26 kg).
