ALA Boys to heat up Dubai
By Rene Bonsubre, Jr. PhilBoxing.com Tue, 16 Mar 2010

Rey "BoomBoom" Bautista (W 27 (KO 20)-L 2) will headline a blockbuster international fight card billed as ?PHILIPPINES VS THE REST OF THE WORLD?, which will take place in Dubai on April 9,2010 at the Dubai Tennis Arena.
Bautista will face Thai Saichon Sotornpitak (W 10 ? 1L,5 KO?s) in a 10-round round featherweight bout. It has been five months since he won the interim WBC
International featherweight title by 7th round TKO over Marangin Marbun of Indonesia. Bautista has given up this title but will continue his pursuit for another crack at a world title.
Milan Melindo is scheduled to defend his WBC Youth Intercontinental flyweight title against Devis Perez of Colombia. Melindo is unbeaten with 20 wins and five KOs while Perez is 12W-1 L-2 D with six KOs. Melindo won the WBC Youth Intercontinental title after beating by unanimous decision Anthony Villareal of the U.S. last January at the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug. Melindo is highly ranked by the major sanctioning bodies and is one our brightest hopes for a world title.
Also slated in the undercard are young Filipino prospects Jason Pagara (21W-1L, 10 KOs) who will face John Gicharu (13W-5L-1D, 6 KOs) of Kenya and Larry Canillas (9W-1L, 8 KOs) who will fight Fred Sayuni (6W-3L-4D, 3 KOs) of Tanzania.
An interesting addition to this fight card is the comeback of Bobby Pacquiao (29W (KO 14)- 15L- 3D). The other Pacquiao last fought in 2008 and lost to Robert Frankel by ten round unanimous decision. Bobby was two wins and four losses in his last six fights. His opponent is still to be named.
The fight was earlier reported to be on April 10 but ALA Promotions has informed through e-mail of the date change.
